Portus Supported Housing has expanded its supported housing provision with a new purpose-built scheme on Hucknall Road in Nottingham.
The development provides 11 self-contained flats designed to support people to live independently in high-quality accommodation tailored to their needs.
Commissioned by Nottingham County Council, the new-build scheme has been developed by Hockley Developments, with care and support services provided by Choice Support.
Choice Support has invested in the development and partnered with Portus Supported Housing on their ongoing commitment to increasing the availability of specialist supported housing across the UK.
Designed to provide safe, modern and sustainable accommodation, the scheme offers residents their own home with support focused on independence, wellbeing and community.
Tom Hodgson, Managing Director of Portus Supported Housing, said: “This is an important new scheme which will provide high-quality homes for people who need specialist support in order to live independently.
“The development reflects the importance of partnership working, bringing together Nottingham County Council, Hockley Developments, Choice Support and Portus Supported Housing to create accommodation designed around the needs of residents.
“At Portus Supported Housing, our focus is always on providing safe spaces for independent living and ensuring people have access to homes that offer both quality and long-term support.”
Alan Forsyth, Managing Director, of Hockley Developments said: “We are proud to have delivered a modern, purpose-built scheme that will make a positive difference to people’s lives.
“The development has been carefully designed to create high-quality accommodation that supports independence while also providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents.
“Working in partnership with Portus Supported Housing, Nottingham County Council and Choice Support has helped ensure the scheme is built around the needs of the people who will live there.”
Andrew Beland, CEO of Choice Support said: “Everyone deserves a good life, with a place to call home, people they choose to spend time with and support that helps them do the things that matter to them.
“A good home is about more than bricks and mortar. It is about feeling safe, settled and part of the community around you.
“Hucknall Road gives people the space, support and opportunity to build ordinary lives of their own, and we are pleased to be working with Portus Supported Housing and our partners to help make that happen.”
